Our Fearless Leader

Last month Vicki found that she has stage 3, grade 3 breast cancer which has spread into her lymph nodes and will require aggressive treatments. Treatment will consist of six chemo sessions over 18 weeks, each one costing an exorbitant amount of money with health insurance only covering part of the payment. Surgery will not occur until after the chemo is complete and hopefully shrinks the tumors. As a self-employed trainer in the hunter-jumper world, she will incur a large number additional barn costs for help during her recovery. Many appointments and tests lie ahead to determine if the cancer has spread. As more information becomes available we will keep you up to date. In addition to her own diagnosis she is the primary caregiver for her sister, Nora, who has recently been diagnosed with sudden onset dementia. Upon learning of her condition, Vicki selflessly put her clients first and waited until the last two summer shows were over to announce the news to anyone. She did not want to upset or worry people so they could remain focused on their showing. Vicki's work ethic and dedication to her horses, clients, and friends has been evident and valued throughout the hunter-jumper community. It is at this time that we ask the horse world to support and help one of their own. Vicki is a mother, grandmother, trainer and friend to many and would willingly give the shirt off her back to help another person out. Those of you lucky enough to know or work with Vicki understand that what a genuinely generous person she is.

For anyone wishing to donate funds to go towards who treatment pleas click on the Go Fund Me link at the top of out webpage. We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and given their support already. The response from the equestrian community has been overwhelming!
